Maidstoned

The early 1970s saw great change in British art schools. A new breed of predominantly working class student was entering the stream, and Performance and Conceptual art were becoming established. Add in the heady mix of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll, and transformation was definitely in the air. 

harefield was there, enthusiastically engaging with everything on offer at Maidstone College of Art in the county of Kent, Southern England. Together with other participants of those now-distant times the story is pieced together of a handful of years full of hope, humour, and creativity.
